NIGERIAN WOMEN IN AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH FOR DEVELOPMENT (NiWARD)

Nigerian Women in Agricultural Research for Development (NiWARD) was initiated in 2013 to provide the platform for Nigerian African Women in Agricultural Research and Development, Fellows, Mentors and Mentees to achieve their AWARD (WOMEN IN AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH FOR DEVELOPMENT)  goals of empowering rural female farmers and farming communities to alleviate hunger and poverty.

Through NiWARD, the Fellows, Mentors and Mentees work together to transfer the knowledge, skills and resources gained from AWARD to transform the rural agricultural sector in Nigeria. Such transformation is achieved through capacity building and trainings in addition to carrying out researches that add value to agricultural productivity.

NiWARD is comprised of over 250 AWARD Fellows, Mentors, Mentees and supports from Nigerian Universities, Agricultural Research Institutes, Agricultural NGOs and the Private Sector.
